Middletown The planning committee for Ryans Run an annual 5K run and 1 mile fun run/walk to benefit the Ryan Andrew Kaiser Memorial Foundation (RAKMF) announces its 6th annual event to be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. on the grounds of Mountain Hill School in Middletown, New Jersey.

Once again, the Jersey Shore Running Club will partner with the event that has become a favorite among the running community due to its well crafted course of trails and roads through Middletown’s scenic horse country and serenity of Huber Woods.

Andy Kaiser, co-founder of Ryan ’s Run and the RAKMF, said, What sets this run apart from other runs is the course itself, and the people who run it.

Attracting both runners and humanitarians who support the RAKMF, monies raised from Ryan’s Run have helped support approximately 50 families, nationwide, through direct grants and funding for medical treatment and lodging in addition to the construction of six new memorial playgrounds. Last year the RAKMF was able to make a $50,000 towards the renovation of a new children’s playroom at the K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore Medical Center.

In addition to the main event, Ryan’s Run will feature a 1-mile fun run, kids races, food, drinks, music and awards.

The Ryan’s Run Race Committee is also hosting a Pre-Race Expo and Barbeque Friday, June 19, 2009 from 6 -8 pm on the Mountain Hill School campus. The event is free and open to both pre-registered runners and newcomers. This is a great opportunity for runners to view the 5k course, meet the Race Committee, pick up race bibs and race t-shirts and meet some of the 2009 Expo Sponsors.

RAKMF was founded in memory of the Kaiser’s oldest son Ryan who died of congenital heart disease at the age of six. The Ryan’s Run race committee announces its 6th annual 5K run and walk the sole fundraising opportunity for RAKMF which provides direct grants to parents of seriously ill children.
