Ryan, the 6-year-old son of Andy and Lauren Kaiser was born with Congenital Heart Disease; Ryan had three open-heart surgeries before he was 2 years old. Ryan’s Run is the premier fund-raising and community involvement event of the RAKMF and each of the past three years the event has substantially grown in participation and in support. “In 2005, we saw runners from as far West as California and as far South as Florida,” said Andy Kaiser, founder of the RAKMF. “We anticipate the same reach this year and are counting on a substantial increase in the number of local runners as well as Family and Corporate Sponsorships,” he added. The 2005 Ryan’s Run event brought over 400 runners and raised over $32,000. These funds were distributed back into the community and to research. RAKMF corporate partners provide financial contributions and many provide products and services for the event each year. The 2006 Ryan’s Run event will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. with food, drink, music, awards and raffles to follow. Local roads close at 8:30 so runners, volunteers and other participants are asked to arrive early. #### About the RAKMF Established in 2003, the Ryan Andrew Kaiser Memorial Foundation has three philanthropic goals. The first is to financially assist local families of critically ill children, who may not otherwise be able to afford proper healthcare. The second is to raise and donate funds to hospitals and Doctor Groups that specialize in the cure and care of pediatric heart patients. The last goal of the RAKMF is to build and maintain a children’s park, dedicated in Ryan’s name in the town of Middletown New Jersey, to provide children and their families with a safe and fun place to play.
